With front panel I/O connectors and cages, bulk cable design and manufacturing, and passive and active I/O cable assemblies, we provide industry-standard interfaces along with multiple custom solutions that support data transmissions rates up to 56G per channel.
DAC (Direct Attach Cables) are shielded high-speed cables with SFF connectors on both ends. These copper cables are cost-effective and are used for short-distance interconnect solutions for switches, routers and servers. AOC (Active Optical Cables) are fiber optic cables that support longer length, high-speed connection without much loss of signal /power transmission. They connect Storage Area Networks (SAN) in data centers using fiber-channel protocol.
Amphenol ICC offers QSFP DD cable assemblies that are backward-compatible with standard QSFP and support DAC up to 2.5m as well as short-range optical cabling. Whereas OSFP cable assemblies support all types of cabling requirements with DAC up to 3.0m and thermal performance of approximately 15W compared to <12W of QSFP DD. Both these connectors can meet 400G (56G PAM4) performance and OSFP connectors can be upgraded to 800G (112G PAM4).
